the Recognition You Deserve!

2014 LMA Minnesota Your Honor Awards Submissions are due September 26, 2014

The LMA Minnesota Your Honor Awards recognize creativity, execution, achievement, and overall excellence in legal marketing, business development, and communications. The LMA Minnesota Your Honor Awards distinguish law firms, law-related organizations, and service providers who have set new standards for innovation in finding, developing, and retaining profitable business.

The LMA Minnesota Your Honor Awards Call for Entries directly mirrors the LMA International Your Honor Awards Call for Submissions. Please submit a copy of your LMA International Your Honor Awards submission to the LMA Midwest Your Honor Awards using the LMA Midwest entry form.

If you’re not entering the LMA International Your Honor Awards, simply follow the steps as indicated in this Call for Entries.

Recognition of Award Winners

Winners in each category will be recognized at the 2014 LMA Minnesota Your Honor Awards Ceremony, to be held immediately following the conclusion of the LMA Midwest Regional Conference, at 4:00pm on October 23, 2014. Winning entries will be displayed at the ceremony.

All finalists will receive notification before the ceremony, but will not be informed of their ranking. Participants who do not finish as a finalist will also receive notification before the ceremony.

  • Winning entries will be prominently displayed at the 2014 LMA Midwest Regional Conference.
  • A list of award winners will be distributed to all LMA Minnesota chapter members.
  • Winning entries will be showcased on the LMA Minnesota blog.
  • A press release announcing winners will be disseminated.
  • Awards will be presented to winners at the ceremony.

Your Honor Awards Categories

Entries may be submitted in the following categories:

  1. Identity — Trademarks, logos, identity and style guides, integrated branding programs, promotional giveaways,tradeshow booths, etc.
    1. Projects totaling up to $20,000
    2. Projects totaling more than $20,000
  2. Promotional and Collateral Materials
    1. Firm-wide, office or practice group brochure
    2. Annual report
    3. Announcement (office move, new partners, awards, etc.)
    4. Newsletter or alert (internal or external)
    5. Holiday cards
  3. Advertising
    1. Single ad (print, billboard, radio, TV or online)
    2. Campaign (minimum of three different ads or one ad promoted through various media channels)
  4. Events — Seminars, open houses, networking events, event invitations, pro bono and community relations and educational webinars or seminars, etc.
  5. Websites
    1. Total website refresh/overhaul/rebrand
    2. Individual portions of website; client extranet; blogs; practice, industry or niche sites;
    3. Intranets
  6. Online Interactive Marketing Tools — QR codes, RSS feeds, social media, videos including firm videos on YouTube, etc.
  7. Media Relations Campaigns — Press releases, news conferences and other non-paid media coverage as well as media training programs
  8. Community Relations — Charitable and community service programs and pro bono projects aligned with strategic marketing initiatives
  9. Practice Development — Attorney coaching, business development programs and plans, cross-selling initiatives, market research analysis and studies, competitive intelligence projects, knowledge management tools/projects, etc.
  10. Recruiting — All programs for attorney and staff recruitment including websites or mini-sites
  11. Marketing on a Shoestring — Programs conceived of and executed exclusively with in-house resources, or with expenses of less than $500 out-of-pocket.
    1. Large Firm (firms with 150+ lawyers)
    2. Small Firm (firms with fewer than 150 lawyers)

Don’t miss the opportunity for your great work to be recognized! The Minnesota Chapter has a history of producing numerous International LMA Your Honor Awards, and it starts by submitting entries at the chapter level.

This year’s YHA Reception is scheduled to take place at 4:00pm on October 23, 2014, immediately following the conclusion of the LMA Midwest Regional Conference at Loews Minneapolis Hotel.
